Queen Latifah
Dana Elaine Owens, better called Queen Latifah in the United States is a rapper and actress. The role of Queen Latifah on television, film and music has won numerous accolades. They include the Golden Globe Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards Two Image Awards A Grammy Award In addition, she has six Grammy Nominations An Emmy Award Nomination and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah was raised in Newark, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Rita Owens Sr. and Lancelot Owens Jr. Latifah's parents separated when she was just 10 years old. Latifah was born and raised within Newark New Jersey attended Catholic schools in Newark. Latifah means gentle and very gentle. Her cousin gave it to her at the age of 8. Latifah is a tall 5'10 girl who was part of the high school basketball squad. At her school's game, Latifah performed "Home" from The Wiz. Latifah started beatboxing in the fresh rap ladies.
